A free and open-source re-implementation of the Server Message Block (SMB) networking protocol, allowing Unix-like operating systems to interoperate with Microsoft Windows clients and servers. It provides file and print services, enabling resource sharing across different operating systems. Samba is commonly used for network attached storage (NAS) devices.
