A dedicated high-speed network that provides block-level access to consolidated, shared storage devices for multiple servers. It presents storage resources to servers as if they were directly attached local drives, enabling high performance and scalability for data-intensive applications. Common SAN protocols include Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
