Secondary memory

A non-volatile storage medium that retains data even when the computer is turned off, used for long-term storage of programs and files. It is slower and less expensive per unit than primary memory (RAM) but offers much greater capacity. Common forms of secondary memory include hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), and optical discs.
