PRAM

A small amount of non-volatile memory in Apple Macintosh computers that stores system settings and configurations. These settings include display resolution, startup disk selection, speaker volume, and time zone information. PRAM retains its data even when the computer is turned off, typically powered by a small battery on the motherboard.
