PPTP

A method for implementing virtual private networks (VPNs) by creating a tunnel between two network points. It uses a control channel over TCP and a GRE tunnel to encapsulate PPP packets. PPTP is one of the oldest VPN protocols, operating on TCP port 1723, but it has known security vulnerabilities.
