VPN
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001333
A secure, encrypted connection over a public network, such as the internet, that creates a private channel for data transmission. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) extends a private network, allowing users to send and receive data as if their computing devices were directly connected to that private network. This is achieved through tunneling protocols like OpenVPN or IPsec, which encapsulate data packets and encrypt them for secure transport.
