Semaphore

A synchronization primitive used in concurrent programming to control access to a common resource by multiple processes or threads. It maintains a count, and processes can acquire or release the semaphore, decrementing or incrementing the count respectively. A process attempting to acquire a semaphore with a count of zero will block until another process releases it.
