Bed Load

  1. Sediment particles resting on or near the channel bottom that are pushed or rolled along by the flow of water.

  2. In-stream sediment transport mode in which individual particles either roll or slide along the stream bed as a shallow, mobile layer a few particle diameters deep (the particle size depends on the energy level of the flowing water).
