Complementary DNA
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-005887
1. DNA made from a messenger RNA (mRNA) template. The single-stranded form of cDNA is often used as a probe in physical mapping.
2. A DNA that is complementary to a given RNA which serves as a template for synthesis of the DNA in the presence of reverse transcriptase.
3. Complementary DNA produced from a RNA template by the action of RNA-dependent DNA polymerase.
