Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-009387

1. Pollution released or discharged into the air from natural or man-made sources, including vehicles, smokestacks and the spraying of aerosols.

2. The gases that are released when fossil fuels are burned.

3. The release of pollutants into the ambient air.

4. The release of a gas (such as carbon dioxide) or other substance into the air.

5. The release of a substance (usually a gas when referring to the subject of climate change) into the atmosphere.

6. Releases of gases to the atmosphere (e.g., the release of carbon dioxide during fuel combustion). Emissions can be either intended or unintended releases. See fugitive emissions.

7. Pollution discharged into the atmosphere from smokestacks, other vents, and surface areas of commercial or industrial facilities; from residential chimneys; and from motor vehicle, locomotive, or aircraft exhausts. [Terms of Environment]The release of a substance (usually a gas when referring to the subject of climate change) into the atmosphere.[Glossary of Climate Change Terms]Pollutants released into the air.

8. Release or discharge, whether directly or indirectly, of HAP into the ambient air.

9. Gas-borne pollutants released to the atmosphere.

10. Direct or indirect release into the atmosphere of any air pollutant, or air pollutants released into the atmosphere.

11. Air pollutants exhausted from a unit or source into the atmosphere, as measured, recorded, and reported to the Administrator by the designated representative and as determined by the Administrator, in accordance with the emissions monitoring requirements of part 75 of this chapter.

12. Air pollutants exhausted from a unit or source into the atmosphere, as measured, recorded, and reported to the Administrator by the NOX authorized account representative and as determined by the Administrator in accordance with subpart H of this part.

13. Air pollutants exhausted from a unit or source into the atmosphere, as measured, recorded, and reported to the Administrator by the CAIR designated representative and as determined by the Administrator in accordance with subpart HH of this part.

14. Air pollutants exhausted from a unit or source into the atmosphere, as measured, recorded, and reported to the Administrator by the designated representative, and as modified by the Administrator:(1) In accordance with this subpart; and(2) With regard to a period before the unit or source is required to measure, record, and report such air pollutants in accordance with this subpart, in accordance with part 75 of this chapter.

15. Air pollutants exhausted from a unit or source into the atmosphere, as measured, recorded, and reported to the Administrator by the CAIR designated representative and as determined by the Administrator in accordance with subpart HHHH of this part.
