Kurtosis

1. A term used to describe a curve indicating that it is more peaked than the normal curve.
2. The measure of peakedness of a distribution. A uniform distribution has a lower kurtosis than a peaked distribution such as the normal and lognormal distribution. Kurtosis is referred to as the 4th central moment of a distribution.
