Nucleosides

1. A precursor to a building block of DNA or RNA. Nucleosides must be chemically changed into nucleotides before they can be used to make DNA or RNA.
2. The constituent purine or pyrimidine bases of DNA or RNA with their corresponding deoxyribose or ribose sugars.
