A locomotive wheel arrangement in the UIC notation: two four-axle bogies, each having an unpowered carrying axle at its outer end and three individually driven axles. The locomotive therefore has eight axles in all. The letter o shows that each powered axle has its own traction motor, and diesel classes such as the British Class 40 used this arrangement.
