Bogie

A wheeled chassis or framework assembly located beneath a railway vehicle, to which the axles and wheels are attached. Each bogie pivots freely under the vehicle's body, allowing the car or locomotive to navigate curves and absorb track irregularities. A standard freight or passenger car is fitted with two bogies, one at each end, with each bogie having two or three axles.
