Acre-foot

A unit of volume commonly used in large-scale water management, representing the amount of water required to cover one acre of land to a depth of one foot. This measurement is frequently applied to quantify reservoir capacities, irrigation allocations, and flood control volumes. One acre-foot is equivalent to 43,560 cubic feet or approximately 325,851 US gallons.
