Aluminosis

A form of concrete degradation caused by the conversion of tricalcium aluminate in cement to other compounds, particularly in the presence of moisture and elevated temperatures. This process leads to a loss of strength and durability in the concrete. It is often associated with the use of high-alumina cement.
