Attenuative

Relating to the property of a material or system that causes a reduction in the intensity or strength of a signal, wave, or force passing through it. An attenuative material absorbs or scatters energy, thereby diminishing its propagation. For instance, lead is an attenuative material used to shield against X-rays and gamma rays.
