Bang off

A weaving fault in which a loom's shuttle fails to follow its intended path through the shed and strikes other parts of the loom with a bang. The warp protector motion then stops the loom at once, which limits damage to the warp and shuttle. Bang-off is classed among the faults of picking, with early, late, and short picking.
