Barley scald

A fungal disease of barley caused by Rhynchosporium commune, characterized by oval-shaped lesions with dark brown margins and pale centers on leaves and leaf sheaths. This disease can significantly reduce grain yield and quality, especially in cool, moist conditions. Resistant varieties and fungicide applications are common control measures.
