Base station
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006781
A fixed reference point in surveying that provides real-time kinematic (RTK) or post-processed kinematic (PPK) corrections to a roving receiver. It transmits correction data via radio or cellular networks to improve the accuracy of position measurements. The base station's coordinates are precisely known, often established through long-term observation or connection to a national geodetic network.
