Channel Quality Indicator, a value that a mobile device reports to the cellular base station to describe the quality of the downlink radio channel it measures. The base station uses the report to choose the modulation scheme and coding rate for the next transmission to that device. In LTE the indicator is an integer from 0 to 15, with higher values signalling a better channel that can carry more data.
