Bay platform

A railway platform that terminates at one end, forming a 'bay' or recess in the station layout. Trains using a bay platform arrive and depart in the same direction, often requiring a locomotive to run around the train or for the train to be a multiple-unit with driving cabs at both ends. They are common for local or terminating services.
