Belt loop

A narrow strip of fabric sewn onto the waistband of trousers, skirts, or other garments, designed to hold a belt in place. These loops prevent the belt from shifting or riding up during wear. Belt loops are typically spaced evenly around the waist, with a standard width of about 0.5 to 1 inch.
