Belted cable
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000518
A type of multi-core electrical cable where the insulated conductors are bound together by an additional layer of insulating material, known as a belt, before the outer sheath is applied. This construction provides enhanced mechanical protection and improved dielectric strength between the cores and the sheath. Belted cables were commonly used in older medium-voltage power distribution systems.
