Bobtail
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000661
A straight truck with a permanently attached cargo body, operating without a semi-trailer. In agriculture, these vehicles are used for transporting bulk commodities such as grain, feed, or fertilizer over shorter distances, for example from a field to on-farm storage. Compared to an articulated tractor-trailer, a bobtail offers greater maneuverability in confined spaces like farmyards or narrow field entrances.
