Bucker

A heavy, dolly-like tool or a person who uses it to support the back end of a rivet while the head is being formed by a rivet gun. The bucker's job is to hold the bucking bar firmly against the rivet shank, absorbing the impact of the pneumatic hammer and shaping the buck-tail. This two-person operation was fundamental to the construction of steel structures, ships, and aircraft in the 20th century.
