Buttonhook

A tool with a slender hook at one end, used to fasten small or difficult-to-reach buttons, particularly on gloves, boots, or corsets. The hook engages the button and pulls it through the buttonhole with minimal effort. These tools were especially common during periods when clothing featured many small, tightly spaced buttons.
