Circuity
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001127
The ratio of the actual distance traveled between two points to the shortest possible straight-line distance. This metric quantifies the indirectness of a route, often due to geographical barriers, road networks, or operational constraints. A circuity value of 1.0 indicates a direct path, while higher values represent more circuitous routes.
