Coaling plant

A facility at a railway depot or yard designed for the efficient transfer of coal from storage to the tenders of steam locomotives. These plants typically feature elevated bunkers, chutes, and sometimes conveyor systems to quickly load a precise amount of fuel. The capacity of a coaling plant can range from a few tons to several hundred tons of coal.
