Core print

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001351

A feature added to a pattern that creates a recess in a mold for positioning and securing a core. The core print forms a seat that matches the shape of the core's ends, holding it in place within the mold cavity before and during the pouring of molten metal. This alignment prevents the core from shifting, which would result in incorrect wall thickness in the final casting.
