An abbreviation for double crochet, one of the fundamental stitches in crocheting. To create the stitch, the crafter wraps the yarn over the hook once before inserting it into the work, pulling up a loop, and then pulling through two loops on the hook twice. This stitch is approximately twice the height of a single crochet stitch, creating a more flexible and open fabric.
