Debinder

A substance or process used to remove the binder from a 'green' part created through powder metallurgy or injection molding. The debinder acts on the polymeric or wax-based material that temporarily holds the metal or ceramic powder in its molded shape. Common debindering agents include solvents like heptane or acetone for chemical removal, or controlled atmospheres in a furnace for thermal removal.
