Development mule

A prototype vehicle used by automotive manufacturers to test new components, systems, or technologies in a disguised body. This allows engineers to evaluate the functionality and durability of new parts without revealing the final design of an upcoming model. Development mules often feature mismatched body panels or camouflage to conceal their true identity during road testing.
