Driving motor

A powered car in a multiple unit that carries traction motors and a driver's cab, so the train can be driven from it. It differs from a driving trailer, which has a cab but no traction equipment. In British Rail coach codes the letters D and M mark a vehicle that is both a driving vehicle and motored.
