Drop tank

A portable, open-topped, collapsible reservoir used for temporary water storage, primarily in firefighting operations where hydrants are unavailable. Water tenders or tankers fill the tank, creating a stationary water source from which pumper engines can draft water to supply attack lines. These tanks are constructed from heavy-duty vinyl or canvas supported by a rigid frame and are available in capacities ranging from several hundred to over 5,000 gallons.
