Line drop
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003356
The reduction in voltage along a conductor due to the impedance of the wire and the current flowing through it. This phenomenon results in less voltage being available at the load than at the source. Excessive line drop can cause equipment to malfunction or operate inefficiently, and is calculated using Ohm's Law.
