DVD drive

An optical disc drive that reads data from and may write data to Digital Versatile Discs. It uses a laser beam, operating at a wavelength of 650 nm for standard DVDs, to detect microscopic pits and lands on the disc's surface, which represent binary data. A DVD-ROM drive is read-only, while a DVD writer (or burner) can also record data to blank discs.
