A fuel designation for pure ethanol, containing no gasoline blend. In Brazil, hydrous ethanol of about 95 percent ethanol and 5 percent water is sold at pumps as a motor fuel for flex-fuel cars, while elsewhere it is mainly used in specialized engines such as racing, because it absorbs water and starts poorly in cold weather.
