Eurobalise

A transponder placed between the rails of a railway track, forming a key component of the European Train Control System (ETCS). It transmits data to passing trains, providing information such as speed limits, signal aspects, and track conditions. These devices are passive, drawing power from the train's antenna as it passes over them.
