Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002197
A document issued by a freight forwarder to a shipper confirming that the forwarder has received the goods and accepted instructions to dispatch them. It is normally abbreviated FCR, for Forwarder's Cargo Receipt or Forwarder's Certificate of Receipt. Unlike a bill of lading it is not a document of title, so it is non-negotiable and cannot transfer ownership of the goods in transit.
