Fender

A cushioning device placed between a vessel and a dock, another vessel, or a pier to absorb impact and prevent damage during mooring or alongside operations. Fenders are made from rubber, plastic, or woven materials and come in cylindrical, spherical, or flat shapes. The size and type of fender depend on the vessel's displacement and the berthing conditions.
