Garden soil

A commercially prepared or amended growing medium intended for use in outdoor garden beds and planters, distinct from native topsoil. It is a mixture of natural soil, organic matter like compost or peat moss, and sometimes inorganic materials such as sand or perlite to improve its structure and drainage. Packaged garden soil products list the ratio of ingredients and the guaranteed nutrient analysis, such as the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (N-P-K) values.
