Half adder

A digital circuit that performs binary addition on two single-bit binary numbers, producing a sum and a carry output. It differs from a full adder by not accepting a carry-in bit from a previous stage of addition. This fundamental building block of arithmetic logic units is constructed using XOR and AND gates.
