Summator
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005759
An electronic circuit, also known as an adder, that produces an output voltage or current proportional to the algebraic sum of two or more input signals. In industrial control systems, summators combine signals from multiple sensors or setpoints to generate a composite signal for a controller or actuator. A common implementation is an operational amplifier (op-amp) in an inverting or non-inverting summing configuration, where the output is determined by the input voltages and the values of the feedback and input resistors.
