Arithmetic logic unit

A digital circuit within a central processing unit (CPU) that performs arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication, as well as logical operations like AND, OR, and NOT. It receives data inputs and control signals, then outputs the result of the computation. The performance of a processor is directly influenced by the speed and efficiency of its arithmetic logic unit.
