Hard-wire
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002736
To connect electronic components or circuits using physical wires and solder, creating a permanent, fixed configuration. This contrasts with connections made through software or firmware, such as in a programmable logic controller (PLC) or microprocessor-based system. Hard-wired logic is less flexible than software-based control but offers high speed and reliability for specific, unchanging tasks, such as in simple safety interlocks or older control panels that predate widespread PLC adoption.
