Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001404
An electronic component that integrates the features of a PAL (programmable array logic) with additional logic blocks and a global interconnection matrix. It offers more gates and flip-flops than simple programmable logic devices (SPLDs). CPLDs are non-volatile, retaining their configuration even when power is removed, making them suitable for boot-up functions in embedded systems.
