Field-programmable gate array

An integrated circuit that can be configured by a customer or designer after manufacturing, rather than being fixed at the factory. It consists of a matrix of configurable logic blocks connected by programmable interconnects. These devices are widely used for prototyping application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and for applications requiring flexible hardware acceleration.
