Relating to farming practices characterized by high levels of inputs, such as capital, labor, or agrochemicals, relative to the land area being farmed. The goal of intensive agriculture is to maximize yield or productivity from a limited amount of land. This approach contrasts with extensive farming, which uses lower inputs over a much larger area to achieve its production targets.
