A distinctive type of Ottoman ceramic ware produced in Iznik, Turkey, from the late 15th to the 17th century. It is characterized by its brilliant white fritware body, decorated with underglaze painting in vibrant colors, particularly cobalt blue, turquoise, green, and a distinctive raised sealing-wax red. Iznikware often features intricate floral and arabesque motifs.
